The most common approach for addressing a family member’s substance abuse issues, involving alcohol and/or drugs, often involves sending the affected individual to treatment without a comprehensive understanding of how to obtain the most effective support for both the family and the person struggling with addiction. Typically, the individual with the substance abuse problem encounters difficulties, and the family, lacking the necessary knowledge and preparation to manage this crisis, tends to select a solution based on factors such as location, cost, interactions with treatment providers during the intake process, and the compatibility of their insurance with the chosen treatment facility. Consequently, the family sends their loved one to treatment with the expectation that they will return home after 30, 60, or 90 days completely rehabilitated. Rarely Happens.

The national statistics say that more than 60% of people that go to qualified residential treatment relapse in the first 30 days, and more than 85% relapse within the first year. This means that there is only a 40% success rate in the first 30 days and 15% in the first year.

With the ēdge Family Recovery & Life Skills program a family can achieve better than a 92% long-term success rate rather than the national average of 15%.
